What Venezuela’s Elections Can Teach Mitt Romney

As a non-American who is not a born speaker of English, I can give from far away a less biased assessment of Americans. America with only about two and a half centuries of independence is still a young nation. Like teenagers, they are a trusting and naive people. They view the world with their rose-colored glasses. They assume the best of others until they discover that they have been fooled and sometimes they even continue to believe charlatans long after they have been fooled. They have blind faith that honesty and fairness will succeed when the rest of the cynical world already knows they are a fairytale for children.

For example, Americans assume without evidence that their political elections are honest. Do they truly believe that in 2000 only 537 Florida voters decided who would be the president between George W. Bush and Al Gore? If so, they are pitifully gullible. In all probability, 537 votes maybe decide who will be the mayor of a small city, not a huge country. There is a better chance of being hit by a meteor.

The truth is that voting fraud and trickery decide all the close elections. It is very certain that some of ballot boxes in Florida found their way to the bottoms of the swamps of the Everglades. Maybe they accidentally fell into bonfires. It is also very probable that, immediately after the vote, election officials added another mark to the ballots of the candidates they did not prefer to disqualify them as double-marked. The list of sneaky voting fraud tricks is only limited by the imagination.

The parties that almost always commit voting fraud are the left parties, especially the socialists and the populists. According to their philosophy, the objectives justify the means. They will rationalize that, if the result is noble in their eyes, there is no difference between legal, illegal, fair, and unfair in their vocabulary. Why is voting fraud committed by the left parties? They believe that they love the people who are like their little children and have to be told what to do for their own well-being.

There is always some voting fraud. The voting fraud is highest when the right parties are strongest and offer the most threat to the left parties. If the candidate of the right is weak, the need to cheat is lowest. This is just like in school when cheating is the highest when the student does not know the lesson and the risk is necessary. If the student already knows the lesson, then cheating is not required.

Yesterday, the dictator Hugo Chavez won the presidency in Venezuela for the fourth time 54 percent to Henrique Capriles 46 percent. The prognosticators of the elections always gave Hugo Chavez an advantage over Henrique Capriles. Hugo Chavez was the incumbent with entrenched advantages and deployed Venezuela’s petroleum wealth to corrupt the people with public projects, subsidies, and to bribe people with money and powerful jobs. The media was in Hugo Chavez’s pocket and everything he did received much publicity. He could speak for hours every day on the television or radio but Henrique Capriles only had three minutes a day. Henrique Capriles tried to defeat these advantages with his youth, handsomeness, and traveled all over Venezuela to meet his voters personally. With his advantages and voting fraud, Hugo Chavez won anyway, but his victory was narrow.

Barack Obama has many advantages against Mitt Romney. Like in Venezuela, Barack Obama uses his country’s wealth to addict the people to the government’s money to the point that 47 percent will vote for him. Mitt Romney was strongly criticised for his truthful words, but it is true that 47% of the people in America either work for the American government (teachers, bureaucrats) or are working for regulated businesses which depend on the American government (General Motors, Wall Street) or collect government retirement funds (social security) or collect welfare. These four groups depend on Barack Obama’s government to continue to spend money on them and will only vote in favor of their self interest. Barack Obama and his junta can win if they find a way to only 4 more percent.

Barack Obama has the advantage of the media in his back pocket. Everything he says is accepted without examination or scrutiny. If the people had not seen on television with their own eyes that Mitt Romney defeated Barack Obama in the debate, the media would lie and report that Barack Obama was victorious. The media invented many excuses for Barack Obama’s poor performance. The media said Barack Obama does not like debates, he was tired from working so hard for the American people, Mitt Romney lied, Mitt Romney cheated with his hankerchief, the referee Jim Lehrer was biased in favor of Mitt Romney, and many other excuses. The media will never admit that Barack Obama’s record is so bad that no debating oratory can defend it. Even though Barack Obama lost, the media will continue to say that only a battle was lost and not the war. The media continue to create hope that Barack Obama will recover strongly and win the next debate. If Mitt Romney would have been beaten in the debate, the media would say that he lost the war and had no hope at all.

Barack Obama’s record of the last  four years is so poor that his only possibility of winning must depend on voting fraud. With such a poor economy and the disastrous international relations in Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Russia, and China, any honest prognosticators of the elections would show Mitt Romney leading by 20 percent. Instead, the dishonest prognosticators use computer models that have many more Democrats than Republicans to show that the election is close. They pretend that the election is close or that Barack Obama is winning so that, on election day, the Democrats can snatch a close victory.  The Republicans have to watch very carefully for sneaky voting fraud by Democrats in close states like Virginia, Ohio, Nevada, Colorado, and, particularly, Florida just like in 2000.

Mitt Romney must be prepared for every voting fraud trick that was ever invented because Barack Obama is very desperate. Barack Obama’s only hope of winning is with voting fraud. Also, Mitt Romney must go directly to the people like Henrique Capriles in Venezuela. Winning the television debates is very important. Traveling to the states to meet with the people directly is even more important. If Henrique Capriles can win 46 percent of the vote in Venezuela against a dictator like Hugo Chavez who has more entrenched advantages than Barack Obama, Mitt Romney must be capable of winning 51 percent in America.
